Xiaomi Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro 5G to Launch in India on January 8

Xiaomi is gearing up for a major dual launch in the Indian market. It has confirmed the arrival of the Poco M8 5G and Poco M8 Pro 5G on January 8. Positioned in the mid-range, both smartphones offer upgraded performance. They include premium curved AMOLED displays, large batteries, and Android 15 out of the box with HyperOS 2.

M8 5G – Specifications

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset powers the standard Poco M8 5G. It features a sleek design with a 6.77-inch Curved AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 2392 × 1080 resolution. It packs a 50MP OIS-enabled main camera, paired with a 2MP depth sensor. A 20MP front shooter handles selfies.

Battery capacity is 5520mAh (region-dependent) with 45W fast charging. Other key features include Android 15 with HyperOS 2, an optical in-fingerprint scanner, a hybrid microSD card slot, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, an IR blaster, and a durable IP68 rating for water and dust-resistance. Meanwhile, its dimensions and weight are 162.2 × 74.2 × 8.4 mm and 190g.

M8 Pro 5G – Specifications

Taking things further, the Poco M8 Pro 5G ships with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset for more powerful performance. It features a larger 6.83-inch Quad-Curved AMOLED panel with a sharper 2772 × 1280 resolution. The display also offers a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

Photography and video capture get a boost with a 50MP OIS main camera, 8MP ultrawide, and 32MP selfie camera. Powering the device is a massive 6500mAh (region-dependent) battery with 100W super-fast charging.

The Poco M8 Pro also comes with Android 15 + HyperOS 2, an Optical in-Display Fingerprint Sensor, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 5, an IR blaster, and an IP68 rating. It offers flagship-grade water and dust resistance. On the other hand, its dimensions and weight measure 162.5 × 74.7 × 7.9 mm and 207g.
