Redmi K90 Max launch confirmed with 165Hz display, Dimensity 9500, and built-in cooling fan

Redmi appears ready to expand its performance lineup with the upcoming Redmi K90 Max. After teasing the device last week, the brand has now confirmed that it will launch on April 21 in China. The phone is expected to sit between the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max, aiming to deliver a balanced flagship experience with a strong focus on gaming and battery life.
Redmi K90 Max Specifications (expected)
Redmi K90 Max is confirmed to feature a large 6.83-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The panel is optimized for high frame rate gaming, with support for over 40 titles running at up to 165fps. The company is also working on enhancements for darker in-game scenes, which could improve visibility during gameplay.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, built on a 3nm process. It is expected to be paired with an independent graphics chip to handle intensive gaming tasks more efficiently.
One of the biggest highlights is the built-in fan-based cooling system. The phone uses a vertical air intake design measuring 18.1mm, capable of delivering airflow up to 0.42CFM. Redmi claims this system can quickly reduce internal temperatures, helping maintain peak performance over time. The cooling structure is designed independently, so it does not interfere with the motherboard layout.
Despite having an active cooling system, the device still retains strong durability. It comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The internal fan also uses a metal bearing structure, which should improve long-term reliability.
Battery life looks equally impressive. The device is expected to pack either an 8,000mAh or 8,500mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging. Other features may include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, symmetrical dual speakers with custom tuning, and a refined metal frame design for a more premium feel.
Redmi to launch K Pad 2, Pad 2 SE, Redmi Book Pro (2026) alongside the Redmi K90 Max
Alongside the Redmi K90 Max, the brand will introduce new products at the same event. These include the Redmi K Pad 2 powered by the Dimensity 9500 chip, the Redmi Pad 2 SE with mid-range specs, and the Redmi Book Pro 2026 in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.
More details should surface ahead of the launch, so stay tuned for updates.
