Motorola rollable phone concept demoed at Lenovo Tech World 2022. There are several indications regarding upcoming smartphones from Lenovo and Motorola during the company’s Tech World 2022 conference. Among the many impressive displays, the rollable concept phone shown by Lenovo Group EVP Luca Rossi, which grows vertically from a 5-inch tablet to a 6.5-inch tall screen through a physical button on the side, stands out.

Lenovo will continue to develop other use cases for the rollable smartphone, including content that dynamically enlarges the screen as you watch movies. Though Lenovo and Motorola’s existing gadget lines include the ThinkPad X1 Fold 2022 laptop and the revived Motorola Razr brand of cellphones, the rollable phone is currently merely a proof of concept.

Both organizations will keep developing innovative shapes and software for OLED-equipped mobile devices. Lenovo is developing a rollable laptop with a vertically extending screen for improved multitasking, browsing, and screen real estate utilization.

At this time, Lenovo has not provided any more information on the future of its rollable smartphones and laptops. We’re interested to see what these gadgets will be labeled once they hit the market. Moto Rolla is a cool name for a rollable phone, but we shouldn’t get our hopes up just yet. These phones won’t be available to the public for at least a few more years.
