Nokia G42 debuted with Snapdragon 480+ and 50MP Primary camera. The Nokia G42, a midrange device emphasizing repairability, is now available as the newest member of the HMD portfolio. For the next five years, HMD will work with iFixit to provide OEM parts, service manuals, displays, batteries, and charging ports for the G42.
This is also HMD’s first 5G phone that is user-repairable. The G42’s rear is recyclable plastic and has a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth module. The G42’s 6.56-inch IPS LCD screen has HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate upfront.

The display has Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a waterdrop notch for the 8MP front-facing camera. A Snapdragon 480+ CPU, 4 or 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of expandable storage are all present and accounted for. HMD guarantees two years of OS upgrades and three years of monthly security fixes for the G42, which runs Android 13.

The 5,000 mAh battery in the phone, which supports 20W fast charging, should last three days, according to HMD. After 800 charging cycles, the battery is expected to retain 80% of its initial capacity. A headphone jack and IP52 certification are further noteworthy characteristics.
Nokia G42 is offered in Purple and Grey hues, with prices for the 6/128GB trim starting at €249/£199. A new screen costs €50/£45, a replacement battery costs €25/£23, and a charging port costs €20/£19 for the repair parts.
