iQOO 16 leak suggests 2K 165Hz display, 8,500mAh battery, and new camera setup
The iQOO 16 is reportedly in development with several major upgrades over its predecessor. A new leak has revealed the phone’s expected specifications, including a next-generation Snapdragon chipset, a high-refresh-rate 2K display, a large battery, and an upgraded camera setup. However, none of these details have been officially confirmed yet.
iQOO 16 could bring a powerful new chipset
The iQOO 16 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, which is reportedly built on a 2nm process. The chip is said to use a 2+3+3 CPU architecture and an Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB of graphics cache. It may also be paired with LPDDR6 RAM and a dedicated e-sports chip.
The phone could run OriginOS 7.0 and support features such as ray tracing, an 8K game camera, and frame stabilisation technology. A built-in cooling fan is also reportedly being tested to help manage temperatures during demanding gaming sessions.
165Hz 2K display could be another highlight
The iQOO 16 is tipped to feature a 6.85-inch Samsung 2K Everest straight display. The panel could use LEAD OLED technology and support a 165Hz refresh rate.
The display is also expected to reach up to 6,000 nits of peak brightness and support Dolby Vision. If these specifications are accurate, the phone could offer a strong combination of sharpness, brightness, and gaming-focused smoothness.
8,500mAh battery with 120W charging
The iQOO 16 could pack an 8,500mAh battery. This would be a major upgrade for users who spend long hours gaming or consuming content. The phone is also expected to support 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
New main camera and 3x periscope telephoto
The camera setup could also receive several changes. The iQOO 16 is tipped to feature a new primary camera alongside a 50MP ultra-wide camera.
For zoom photography, the phone could use an IMX882 3x periscope telephoto camera. The leak does not reveal the resolution of the new main camera, so more details are still needed.
Other features
The iQOO 16 is also expected to feature IP68 and IP69-rated protection, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, symmetrical dual speakers, and an X-axis linear motor. An RGB light strip could add another gaming-focused element to the design.
