Xiaomi has officially launched its latest Ultra-grade flagship smartphones in China, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the more premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition. Continuing its strong push into high-end photography and performance-focused devices, this year’s Ultra lineup introduces a large 1-inch camera sensor, satellite connectivity, a massive battery, and industry-leading display brightness, setting a new benchmark for 2026-level smartphone flagships.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Key highlights
The 17 Ultra sports a 6.9-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 2608 × 1200p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3500 nits. For users sensitive to PWM flicker, the panel also supports 1-nit minimum brightness, full-brightness DC dimming, and HDR standards like HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision, making it ideal for content consumption.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, promising next-gen performance and faster app loading speeds. Xiaomi is also introducing a new Xiaomi Star Communication System for better signal strength.
Battery life is another major upgrade — the Chinese variant includes a 6,800mAh battery supporting 90W wired, 50W wireless and 22.5W reverse charging. Xiaomi confirmed that the global variant will ship with a slightly smaller 6,000mAh cell, likely due to market regulations.
