Xiaomi 14 Pro may not be available globally

In late October, Xiaomi launched its flagship smartphones, the 14 and 14 Pro, which quickly hit the Chinese market. Following the usual trend, a global release is anticipated in the coming months, aligning with Xiaomi’s typical pattern for end-of-year releases—initially unveiling in China and later expanding to a global audience.

The Xiaomi 14 is set to receive that update, but the Xiaomi 14 Pro won’t, as per a recent report. This conclusion is drawn from an analysis of the software the company is working on for global markets. The 14 Pro won’t receive further software updates globally for Xiaomi’s HyperOS, unlike the 14, which continues to see active development. It’s possible the information source isn’t aware that builds for the 14 Pro may still be available on Xiaomi’s servers.

It appears that only one out of the 14 models will be available outside China, and this decision might have some logic to it. If a 14 Ultra is also on the horizon, the 14 Pro could risk being overshadowed and overlooked. The company might have found through market research that consumers are inclined to choose either the basic model or the fully loaded Ultra, with little interest in something in between.

If you’ve eagerly awaited the global release of the 14 Pro, there’s not-so-great news. While it’s not official yet, there’s a chance it might happen soon. Rumors suggest the 14 might make its global debut in January and later arrive in India.
