Vivo has officially launched the Vivo S2 in India, marking the return of the S series after nearly seven years. The last S-series smartphone to launch in the country was the Vivo S1 in 2019. The new Vivo S2 brings a premium curved AMOLED display, a massive 7,050mAh battery, a Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset, and a 50MP Sony camera.
Vivo S2 Specifications and Features
The Vivo S2 features a 6.83-inch 3D curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and up to 3,000-nit peak brightness. The display also houses an in-display fingerprint scanner and a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera.
Under the hood, the Vivo S2 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset. The smartphone pairs the processor with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box. Vivo promises three Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. The company also claims the phone supports 90FPS gameplay in BGMI.
For photography, the Vivo S2 packs a 50MP Sony IMX582 primary camera alongside a 2MP bokeh sensor. Vivo also includes its Aura Light ring flash to improve portrait photography in low-light conditions.
On the front, the smartphone features a 32MP selfie camera. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording.
The Vivo S2 houses a 7,050mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging and bypass charging. The smartphone also includes a 3,800mm² vapor chamber to keep temperatures in check during gaming and heavy workloads.
Additionally, the device comes with dual stereo speakers, IP68 and IP69 ratings, MIL-STD-810H certification, underwater photography support, and a display that remains responsive even with wet or greasy hands.
Vivo offers the smartphone in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White color options. The Silk White variant is slightly thicker and heavier than the other two models.
Vivo S2 price and availability
The Vivo S2 starts at INR 39,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 256GB model is priced at INR 49,999. The smartphone will go on sale in India starting August 11 through Vivo’s official website, Amazon, Flipkart, and authorized retail stores.
