We already reported that Vivo is planning to bring back its S series in India. After recent reports hinted at the Vivo S2’s comeback, a fresh set of leaks has now revealed the phone’s launch date, first sale timeline, design, color options, and key specifications.
Vivo S2 is launching in India on August 6
According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, Vivo will launch the Vivo S2 in India on August 6. The first sale is reportedly scheduled for August 11.
The leak also claims that Vivo will offer the smartphone in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants. Buyers may get three color options: Regal Bronze, Sapphire Blue, and Silk White.
Meanwhile, newly leaked promotional images have revealed the phone’s design. The Vivo S2 appears to feature a curved display and a pill-shaped horizontal camera module, giving it a design similar to the recently launched Vivo X300 FE.
The promotional material also confirms a 50MP primary rear camera. Previous leaks suggest that the Vivo S2 will feature a 6.59-inch OLED display, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and a massive 7,000mAh battery.
Reports first suggested the return of the Vivo S series to India back in May. The Vivo S2 may target the premium mid-range segment with a price between Rs. 45,000 and Rs. 50,000.
Vivo has yet to officially announce the smartphone. However, with the rumored launch less than two weeks away, the company is expected to begin teasing the Vivo S2 soon.
