Tecno has launched the Pova 8 Pro 5G in India, bringing a 6,500mAh battery, a 144Hz AMOLED display, strong durability features, and an active matrix display on the rear. The phone also comes with an AI call assistant and gaming-focused hardware.

The Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel supports 2,592Hz PWM dimming and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The phone also carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset. A secondary graphics chip helps maintain frame rates in supported games. The phone uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, with 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB configurations available.
The Pova 8 Pro 5G packs a 6,500mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 10W reverse wired charging. It also supports bypass charging, allowing power to bypass the battery during heavy use to reduce heat generation.
For photography, the phone features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera on the rear. The front houses a 13MP selfie camera. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording at 30fps.
The rear panel features a triangular camera design and Tecno’s Alive Matrix Display. The secondary screen uses 177 Mini LEDs to show information such as battery status, timers, and caller ID. It can also work as a desk clock when the phone is placed face down.
The phone runs Android 16 and includes an AI call assistant that can record and transcribe both regular cellular and WhatsApp calls. It supports English, Hindi, Bengali, and Marathi. The assistant can also generate conversation summaries, extract action items, and categorize contacts based on the context of calls.

The Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G comes in Tundra Green, Arc White, and Graphite Black colors. The 8GB/256GB model costs Rs. 49,999, while the 12GB/512GB version is priced at Rs. 54,999. The phone will go on sale in India from August 21 through Flipkart and physical retail stores.
