Samsung Galaxy A18 appears on Geekbench with Helio G99 and Android 17

Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch the Galaxy A18 in the coming weeks. While the company has yet to reveal the smartphone, a Galaxy A18 4G variant has now appeared on Geekbench, revealing its chipset, RAM, software, and benchmark scores.

The Galaxy A18, carrying the model number SM-A185G, runs on MediaTek’s MT6789 octa-core chipset, which corresponds to the Helio G99. Interestingly, Samsung used the same chipset in the Galaxy A17 4G, so the upcoming model may not bring a major performance upgrade.

The Geekbench-listed unit comes with 4GB of RAM and runs Android 17, likely with One UI 9 on top. It scored 745 points in the single-core test and 2,073 points in the multi-core test.

Samsung also appears to be working on another 4G variant with the model number SM-A185F. Its test firmware has already surfaced on Samsung’s European server, and it could also use the Helio G99 chipset.

The Galaxy A18 4G may also retain a familiar design. Leaked renders suggest an Infinity-U display on the front and a vertically aligned triple-camera setup on the rear.

Samsung reportedly plans to launch the Galaxy A18 4G first, followed by the 5G model a few months later. The company is also expected to begin mass production of the 4G version this month, although production plans could change depending on market conditions.
