Samsung has finally launched the Samsung Galaxy A18 4G in Europe silently. The phone arrives with a minor upgrade over the Galaxy A17 4G. The key highlights are: Samsung replaced the Helio G99 chipset with the Exynos 1610, Android 17, and IP64 rating.
Samsung Galaxy A18 4G Specifications and Features
The Galaxy A18 4G features a 6.7-inch 90Hz Super AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,340px resolution. It measures 7.7mm thick and weighs 196g.
Under the hood, the phone has arrived with a new processor Exynos 1610 and paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. Interestingly, the smartphone previously appeared on Geekbench with MediaTek’s 6nm Helio G99 chipset, while the European variant is listed with the Exynos 1610. Samsung has yet to reveal detailed information about the new chipset, making its performance and specifications unclear for now.
The A18 runs on Android 17 and One UI 9 out of the box and will receive OS updates for 6 years. It will receive security patches until the end of October 2032.
It features a triple camera setup on the back including a 50MP main (f/1.8, no OIS), a 5MP ultra-wide (f/2.4) and a 2MP macro cam. The camera can record 1080p video at 30fps. On the front, there is a 13MP selfie camera.
For power, the Galaxy A18 4G comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. The battery is rated for 1,200 charge cycles, and Samsung claims the phone reaches 50% in half an hour.
Samsung Galaxy A18 4G Price and Availability in Europe
The Samsung Galaxy A18 4G comes in three colors: Gray, Light Blue, and Black. It is already listed on Samsung France’s online store, where it is available in a single 4GB/128GB storage configuration. The phone is available at €280, and it also includes a microSD card slot for additional storage. Samsung will begin shipping the device from September 18.
Samsung has also revealed different pricing for the Galaxy A18 4G in other European markets. In Norway, the 128GB model costs NOK 3,290, while the 256GB version is priced at NOK 5,190. The Swedish pricing is the same at SEK 3,290 and SEK 5,190, respectively. However, the Galaxy A18 4G has yet to appear on Samsung’s Swedish online store.
Interestingly, the Galaxy A17 4G launched last year at a much lower price of €200, despite offering a higher 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. This makes the Galaxy A18 4G’s €280 starting price notably higher than its predecessor.
