Roundup: Redmi Turbo 3 specifications, design, Performance everything you need to know before launch

Redmi plans to reveal its newest high-performance smartphone, the Redmi Turbo 3, in its home market on April 10. This phone comes after the Redmi Note 11T Pro and Note 12 Turbo. Instead of sticking with the Note series, Redmi is launching a new Turbo series for these phones. This change is aimed at simplifying the product lineup and helping consumers better understand the options available. Stay tuned to learn about the features of this new device.

Redmi Turbo 3 Specifications

Design

Redmi has released several teasers showing the appearance of the Turbo 3 smartphone. The phone has a flat design with gently curved corners for better grip. On the back, there are two large camera sensor cutouts and a smaller one with a ring LED. You’ll find the power button and volume rockers on the right side. The phone will be super thin and light, less than 8 mm thick, and weighing only 179 grams.

Display

Its display will be higher than 1080p resolution, with slim edges and a flat design. It holds the SGS five-star drop protection certification, showing it can resist drops to some degree.

The device has ultra-thin bezels around a 1.5K resolution screen on its front. We don’t know the exact size of the screen yet, but based on its previous version, it’s likely to have a 6.6-inch or larger AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Chipset and Storage

The main highlight of the Redmi Turbo 3 is its focus on performance, centered around the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. This processor, a variant of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, is the key draw for this device. It’ll come with a maximum of 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

AnTuTu and Geekbench performance

The Redmi Turbo 3 brand recently announced an AnTuTu score exceeding 1.75 million points, setting a new record in flagship-killer phones. It’s also been spotted on Geekbench as model number “24069RA21C” with impressive scores: 2017 points in single-core and 5617 points in multi-core tests.

Redmi Turbo 3 Software features

Redmi plans to include Rage Engine 3.0 in the new Redmi Turbo 3, which was previously seen in the Redmi K70 Pro. This technology ensures gaming at 1.5K resolution without compromising frame rate, image quality, or brightness. It utilizes AI performance scheduling and rendering for optimal results. The device will run on Xiaomi HyperOS, based on Android 14.

Additionally, the phone will introduce the “Ice Cooling” thermal management system, preventing thermal throttling during prolonged gaming sessions, especially in games like Honor of Kings and Peace Elite.

Camera

The Redmi Turbo 3 reportedly has an advanced 18-bit ISP (Image Signal Processor) that improves color and detail capture with AI features for instant photo and video enhancement. Specific camera hardware details are not known yet. However, the Poco F6, essentially a renamed Redmi Turbo 3, is expected to boast a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens, all powered by a Sony IMX882 sensor. The Redmi Turbo 3 may adopt this same camera setup.

Battery

Although the exact battery specifications are not yet disclosed, it’s anticipated to sport a 5000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support, as indicated by a recent 3C certification.
