Redmi Note 17 Pro Max global new leak reveals a new chipset, a bigger battery, and pricing

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro in China in July before bringing the vanilla Note 17 to India. The company is also preparing a global lineup with slightly different hardware. The range will reportedly include a new Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

The global Redmi Note 17 models will feature smaller batteries than their Chinese and Indian counterparts. They will also add 8MP ultrawide cameras, while the selfie cameras will get upgraded 16MP sensors.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max gets a bigger battery

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. The panel will also use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The phone will feature a 32MP selfie camera. On the back, it may use a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera.

The biggest upgrade will come in the battery department. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will reportedly pack a 9,210mAh battery with 100W fast charging. That is larger than the expected 8,340mAh battery of the global Note 17 Pro and even the 9,000mAh cell used by the Chinese Pro model. The Pro Max is expected to measure 163.4 x 78.3 x 8.6mm and weigh around 230g.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 powers the Pro Max

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will reportedly use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. A Geekbench listing for the Xiaomi 2609FRA74G, believed to be the global Pro Max, already revealed the processor.

The tested model had 8GB of RAM and ran Android 16. Xiaomi may also offer a 12GB RAM version alongside 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. The 128GB model will reportedly use UFS 2.1 storage, while the higher-capacity variants could get faster UFS 4.0 storage.

The global Redmi Note 17 series is expected to launch with several memory and storage configurations. Pricing details have already leaked, although the full lineup and configurations remain unclear.
