Redmi Note 17 India launch reportedly set for August 6, key specs leaked

Redmi is gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 17 series in global markets, and India could be one of the first countries to get it. The brand introduced the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro in China last week, and a new leak has now revealed the possible India launch date along with a few key specifications of the standard model.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Redmi Note 17 will launch in India on August 6, with the first sale expected to begin on August 11.

The tipster further claims that the Indian variant will feature an OLED display, a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP selfie camera, and an 8,000mAh battery. These camera and battery specifications match the Chinese model, although it remains unclear whether the Indian version will retain the same 7-inch 120Hz OLED panel with FHD+ resolution.

For reference, the Chinese Redmi Note 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and supports 45W wired fast charging along with 22.5W reverse wired charging.

Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm the India launch date or specifications. If the leak turns out to be accurate, more details about the Redmi Note 17 should surface in the coming days.
