Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro launch in China with Snapdragon chips, bigger batteries

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 17 series in China. The lineup includes the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro, bringing larger batteries, updated Snapdragon chipsets, and improved displays over the previous generation.

The Redmi Note 17 features a 7-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,800 nits peak brightness. The display also supports wet and glove touch.

The phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Xiaomi also includes a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

One of the biggest highlights is the 8,000mAh battery. It supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.

For photography, the Redmi Note 17 features a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Both cameras support up to 1080p video recording at 30fps.

Other features include an optical fingerprint scanner, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, an IR blaster, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, and an IP65-rated dust and splash-resistant body.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro comes with a smaller but higher-resolution 6.83-inch OLED display. It offers a 1.5K resolution, 12-bit color, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. It comes with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Xiaomi uses UFS 3.1 storage on the 256GB and 512GB variants.

Despite its smaller size, the Redmi Note 17 Pro packs an even larger 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 67W wired fast charging along with 22.5W reverse wired charging.

For cameras, the phone features a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie camera. Like the standard model, video recording is limited to 1080p at 30fps.

The Pro model also offers several premium upgrades, including stereo speakers, an ultrasonic proximity sensor, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance.

The Redmi Note 17 series is already available in China. Xiaomi has not confirmed global availability yet, and the global models may feature different cameras, batteries, and other hardware compared to the Chinese variants.
