Redmi K100 Pro and Pro Max will launch first

Unlike previous generations, Redmi will launch the K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max first, while the standard Redmi K100 will arrive later. Xiaomi President Lu Weibing confirmed that Redmi has not canceled the regular model. Instead, the company plans to launch it later with a focus on flagship-level performance and a practical user experience.

Redmi also explained that rising memory and component costs influenced this year’s product strategy, prompting the brand to move the K100 series launch ahead of its usual schedule. According to the company, the Redmi K100 Pro targets users looking for an all-round flagship in the CNY 4,000 (~$590) segment, while the K100 Pro Max focuses on delivering a new benchmark for mobile gaming.

Redmi has also unveiled the K100 Pro Max in a new Cabernet Red color option. The smartphone features a color-matched metal frame and a redesigned integrated camera module. The company has also added a floating light ring that can synchronize with music, incoming calls, notifications, and Xiaomi’s AI assistant, giving the phone a more distinctive look than previous K-series models.

Redmi K100 Pro series expected specifications

Previous Geekbench listings revealed that the Redmi K100 Pro series will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The lineup is also expected to feature 6.59-inch and 6.9-inch flat displays with a 185Hz refresh rate. Redmi says its new Super Pixel display technology delivers 2K-like clarity while maintaining the power consumption of a 1K panel.

Previous leaks further suggest that the Redmi K100 Pro Max could feature a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with telemacro support, a battery exceeding 9,000mAh, 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, IP-rated dust and water resistance, symmetrical stereo speakers, and a Bose-tuned 2.1-channel speaker system.

Previous reports also suggest Redmi will rebrand the K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max for global markets as the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra, respectively. Redmi will reveal the complete specifications, pricing, and availability of the K100 Pro series at its launch event on August 11.
