Poco India brand ambassador confirms the Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro’s launch in India

Last week, Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya was seen using a Poco X series smartphone that hadn’t been released yet. It wasn’t clear if this was just a product placement or if Pandya would be in Poco’s future X series ads. Well, today, Poco’s Indian branch announced that the all-around cricketer will be its brand ambassador.

Poco described Pandya as a “perfect fit” to be its brand ambassador since, as a company, it “focuses on defying the existing quo and representing every individual who is looking for perfection and bigger alternatives to the mainstream.”

The Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro 5G is likely a rebranded version of the recently released Redmi Note 12 Speed Edition in China. If that is the case, we can expect the device to be powered by the Snapdragon 778G processor. It might also have 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. When it comes to the phone’s cameras, the POCO X5 Pro 5G will probably have a 108MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera and a 16MP front-facing camera.

Hardik Pandya, who is also the captain of the Gujarat Titans of the Indian Premier League (IPL), was also named the face of the upcoming Poco X series smartphone launch in India, according to the Xiaomi sub-brand.

Poco didn’t say what the X series smartphone was called, but it did say that it “comes with major upgrades from its predecessor at an affordable price and carries forward the brand’s vision of making sure users are happy with cutting-edge devices.”
