OPPO silently launched its latest K15 series duo, the OPPO K15s and K15x, in China. This duo joins the K15, K15 Pro, and K15 Pro+. Based on their specifications and features, both new phones sit below the standard K15, with the K15s offering more features than the K15x.
OPPO K15s Specifications
The OPPO K15s comes with a 6.57-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with a 2372×1080 resolution, 1000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, and up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness. It supports 1.07 billion colours and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The phone also carries IP69K, IP69, IP68, and IP66 ratings for water and dust resistance. In addition, it has passed 15 military-grade environmental tests under the GJB150A-2009 standard.
Under the hood, the OPPO K15s runs on the Dimensity 6360 Max with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. There is a built in 4,300mm² VC cooling system to ensure smooth multitasking and lag free gaming.
On the rear panel, the K15s features a 50MP main rear camera with autofocus and up to 10x digital zoom. For selfies and video calls, it sports an 8MP front camera. The rear camera can record 1080p video at up to 60fps and support 720p slow-motion recording at 120fps.
A massive 8,000mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC and UFCS fast charging powers this device. Oppo rates the battery for more than 2,000 charge cycles and claims it can retain at least 80% of its capacity after around seven years of simulated use.
Among other key features it includes dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth with LDAC and aptX HD NFC, an infrared remote, and an in-display optical fingerprint sensor
OPPO K15x Specifications
The OPPO K15x is going to be the most affordable smartphone in the K15 series. It comes with a 6.75-inch HD+ 120Hz LCD, reaches up to 1,125 nits of peak brightness, and supports up to 240Hz touch sampling. For endurance and durability, the device comes with an IP64 rating and a diamond anti-drop architecture.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Dimensity 6300 and paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. On the rear panel, it has a 13MP autofocus camera with up to 10x digital zoom and a 5MP front camera. Its rear camera can record 1080p video at 60fps, while 720p slow-motion recording supports up to 120fps.
The Oppo K15x has a 6500mAh battery (typical), rated at 6335mAh, with 45W SuperVOOC and UFCS charging. Unlike the K15s, the K15x skips NFC but still includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, expandable storage, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth audio, dual-SIM support, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Oppo K15s and K15x price and availability
OPPO K15s is available in two colors: Wind Trail Purple and Shadow Gray and two storage configurations: 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The base model costs 1,699 Yuan (~$250), and the 8GB model is priced at 1,999 Yuan (~$294).
The OPPO K15s also come in two colors: Glacier White and Prism Purple and two storage configurations with 6GB RAM and 128GB/256B storage. The 6GB/128GB model is available at 1,399 Yuan (~$206), and the 6GB/256GB model comes with a price tag of 1,699 Yuan (~$250).
