Oppo Find X5 announced with Snapdragon 888

Oppo Find X5 announced with Snapdragon 888, same camera sensors as the X5 Pro. Oppo has unveiled two flagship models today, The Oppo Find X5 and the X5 Pro. Although the Pro is definitely the top model but the standard model comes with a lot of amazing hardware features, such as Hasselblad’s Natural Color Calibration feature as well as the specially designed 6-nm MariSilicon X image processing chip.

The custom chip is coupled to the Snapdragon 888 (instead that of 8 Gen 1), which has 8 GB of memory and 256GB of storage. It is running the identical color OS 12.1 (based upon Android 12) with visual and privacy enhancements, as well as the latest Multi-Screen Connection feature, which lets you effortlessly switch between your smartphone and Windows PC. Its X5 has a smaller size and features a the 6.55″ OLED display. 

It features 1080p+ resolution, and although it’s not an LTPO display, it has a an impressive 120Hz frame rate. The back is covered with matte glass (available in Black and White), plus a fingerprint-resistant frame. The Find X5 isn’t only it’s MariSilicon chip, but the Find X5 has a camera configuration that is very like the Pro.

It comes with two IMX766 cameras: wide and ultra large. They are 1/1.56″ sensors come with 1.0um pixels and can support Binning. Wide cameras have OIS but it’s the standard type and not the 5-axis optical stabilizer which is only available only to Pro. The back of the camera is an telephoto camera with 13MP (52mm lens, with 2x optical magnification). 

On the front , there’s the 32MP selfie camera that uses an older sensor called IMX615 (so there is no RGBW filter) and the lens features only 81deg of FOV (compared with 90deg for the Pro). The battery is smaller at 4,800mAh (vs. the 5,000 mAh battery for the X5 Pro), but it’s 300mAh larger over its predecessor, the X3 battery. 

It is compatible with the same SuperVOOC speed of 80W wireless charging (up from 65W on the X3) Wireless charging has been upgraded to the incredibly fast 30W AirVOOC. The X5 has an advanced cooling system that is similar to that of the Pro that comes with an extra big chamber for vapor. It’s not equipped with the IP Water or dust resistance ratings. 

The 360deg antenna remains present on the board, ensuring an uninterrupted 5G connection. This Oppo Find X5 is available for pre-ordering now with the price of $1000 for the 8/256GB model (the only option offered in Europe) Open sales will begin on the 14th of March. Customers can choose of Black and White colors.
