Motorola Edge 20 Pro is going to receive the update to Android 12. Motorola had to wait a long time to get started with it Android 12 update rollouts, just releasing the first update in February, a few months after Google first announced this new OS.
But since then, the company has been able to maintain the same (if slow) pace of rolling out updates and has now allowed another device to run the most recent version of Android. It’s Motorola Edge 20 Pro. Motorola Edge 20 Pro.
This is a premium phone that was launched in August of the year before. It is currently getting the stable, finalized upgrade to Android 12 in Brazil, one of Motorola’s largest markets for the number of sales as well as brand awareness.

The update is being released via the air in Brazil as usual, which means that it could take a couple of hours (or maybe even weeks) until it’s available to all devices available out there. After installation you’ll notice that your Motorola Edge 20 Pro will be running the build S1RA32.41-20-16 that includes the March 1st 2022 security patch which could be the reason you’ve seen, is obsolete.
At least, you’re finally getting Android 12. The rollout has begun on Edge 20 Pro. Edge 20 Pro with the model number XT2153-1-DS which is by the way. I hope everything goes smoothly in Brazil and Motorola decides to roll out this update to all other markets in which it sold its Edge 20 Pro. It will be very soon. The wait has been long enough.
