Japanese flagship Sharp AQUOS R11 launches with a 240Hz OLED display and Snapdragon 8s Gen 4

Sharp has officially unveiled the new Sharp AQUOS R11 in Japan, bringing Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a 240Hz OLED display, and a Leica-powered camera system. The smartphone combines premium design, advanced durability, and long-term software support, making it one of Sharp’s most feature-packed devices to date. Sales will begin on July 9, although the company has not disclosed the official price of the SIM-free variant yet.

The Sharp AQUOS R11 features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Pro IGZO OLED display with LTPO technology and a 240Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach up to 3,600 nits of peak brightness and 1,800 nits in high-brightness mode. Sharp has also equipped the display with ultra-slim 1.3mm bezels. It has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on both the front and back. This device measures 8.9mm thick and weighs 195g.

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone runs Android 16 with AQUOS UX and is promised to receive three major Android updates alongside five years of security updates.

For photography, the AQUOS R11 features a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50.3MP main camera with OIS, a 50.3MP ultra-wide camera, and a 38.5MP telephoto camera offering 2.9x optical zoom. Sharp has also included a 14-channel spectral sensor and Leica HEKTOR optics. On the front, the device houses a 50.3MP selfie camera.

The smartphone packs a 5,100mAh battery with support for 36W wired charging. For durability and endurance, it comes with IPX5, IPX8, IPX9, and IP6X ratings and MIL-STD-810G certification. Other notable features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, RGB lighting effects, USB 3.2 Gen 1, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, eSIM support.

The Sharp AQUOS R11 is available in a 12GB + 256GB configuration and is priced at 162,470 Yen in Japan. It comes in three color choices: Navy Blue, Ivory Yellow, and Terracotta Red.
