iQOO Z6 Pro hands-on review released on YouTube. It sounds like a decent enough phone, but you might be disappointed to find out that it didn’t come with a case or an extra USB-C cable. What you get is the 80W power adapter, which saves you the hassle of carrying both.
The iQOO Z6 Pro boasts a 6.44″ IPS screen with 1,300 nits peak brightness, which is great for reading, and has a built-in pulsating fingerprint scanner that is easy to use and accurate. This display has a notch for the 16MP camera, which feels dated at this price point.
Even last year’s Z5 had a centered punch hole, giving the smartphone a more modern look. It comes with an LCD of lower peak brightness (650 nits) but has a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s also worth mentioning that the Z5 featured stereo speakers, while the Z6 Pro doesn’t have that feature. With Widevine L1 and HDR10+ support, the Z6 Pro has high-quality streaming capabilities.

However, it doesn’t work with HD and HDR content on YouTube. With options for 60Hz, 90Hz, and Smart Switch screen refresh rates, you have three methods of refreshing your screen. The first option sets the screen refresh rate to 60Hz, while the other two work similarly, bumping it up to 90Hz when you interact with the screen and switching it back down to 60Hz after a few seconds of inactivity.
YouTube is an exception as it remains at 60Hz when in Smart Switch mode but refreshes at 90Hz mode when enabled. In the Smart Switch mode, some apps, including Google Chrome, Google Photos, Quora, and GSMArena, remain at 60Hz. If you are looking for the smoothest scrolling experience possible, with the help of a refresh rate option that allows High Refresh Rate Gaming (HRR), then use 90Hz instead.
Note, however, that 90Hz does not allow HRG. A huge camera island is attached to the Z6 Pro’s back that consumes half its width. It has an LED flash and three circles made up of cameras – one containing the primary 64MP camera and the other housing ultrawide 8MP cameras and 2MP macro units. The latter is unlike the main camera of the Z5, which can record 4K videos at 60Hz. Instead, the primary camera on the Z6 Pro shoots only in 4K up to 30FPS. And because of their large footprint, both of them are subject to wobbling on more level surfaces, and bundled cases offer little solution.

The Z6 Pro has a matte finish and feels nice to touch on the Legion Sky version. Its logo is located at the bottom, and it did not attract fingerprints during our usage. The Z6 Pro has the Snapdragon 778G SoC, similar to last year’s Z5.
It comes with 12GB or 6GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512GB of storage. There are two more configurations – one with 6GB or 128 GB of RAM and 8GB or 256 GB of storage, and the other with 8GB or 256 GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
These laptops don’t have a microSD card slot for additional storage expansion, but they come with the SRAM feature. This can also enable virtual RAM expansion up to 2GB on the 6GB RAM model and 4GB on the 8GB and 12GB RAM variants.
In real-world usage, this feature does not make much of a difference in memory usage, though these laptops may still be better for those purchasing them solely for instant access to large files rather than a laptop that sacrifices hard drive space. On the software front, the iQOO Z6 Pro comes pre-installed with several third-party apps, but fortunately, most can be uninstalled by you.
