iQOO 12: 3-Year OS Updates & Funtouch OS 14 Minimizes Bloatware Impact
As we await the global release of the iQOO 12 series, there’s good news: Funtouch OS 14 is on the way, based on Android 14. This updated software will do away with annoying bloatware. The company shared a list of devices that will receive the update a couple of months ago.
Those familiar with Funtouch OS are aware that iQOO has a tradition of pre-installing a collection of “Hot Apps” and “Hot Games” on its devices. However, starting from Funtouch OS 14 onwards, this practice will be discontinued. Simply put, iQOO is eliminating unnecessary pre-installed software, commonly referred to as bloatware.
iQOO 12 series will get 3 OS updates and 4 years of security patches. This is a commendable commitment, although it falls slightly short of the extended support provided by Samsung, OnePlus, and Google.
In any case, it’s a positive step forward, and we won’t complain. IQOO is still building its name, and with more funds, it’s likely to focus on keeping its phones updated for longer.
