iPhone 15 Pro Max is coming with a periscope lens finally. The iPhone’s future looks like it will get a lot more complicated as Apple plans to introduce its first periscope-style camera. This will not be the case for all models, but only for their Pro series.
Previous rumors were claiming a 5x magnification for the new camera module. Instead, Apple has planned a 6x magnification with a 12MP sensor with sensor-shift stabilization positioned at the front of the device for all iPhones moving forward.

The first periscope-style camera on an iPhone will come out in 2019, but only on the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max and not on the smaller one in 2020 or 2021. While it is possible that Apple has yet to decide if they increased by 5x or 6x, estimates have lowered to six months in advance, with Kuo now predicting that they might even go ahead and release their next pair of flagship devices, both having this feature later this year (in 2019).
