Huawei Mate XTs Arrives September 12 with Upgrades Over Predecessor

Huawei’s premium foldable flagship devices are very familiar to all of us. Huawei is always committed to providing premium services and features to its Mate series users. Now, Huawei has announced its upcoming premium tri-fold device, the Huawei Mate XTs. It is the second tri-fold device of Huawei, which comes with some minor upgrades over its predecessor, Huawei XTs Ultimate. Let’s check the full details here.

Huawei Mate XTs Specifications

Display and Design

The Mate XTs comes with a 10.2-inch folding LTPO OLED display, offering a sharp 3K resolution and smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Its 16:11 aspect ratio allows users to run up to three apps side by side, making multitasking easier. The display also delivers up to 1,800 nits peak brightness for clear visibility in any lighting condition. Like its predecessor, the Mate XTs supports a stylus, giving users more flexibility for work, note-taking, and creative tasks.

The Mate XTs offers a versatile folding design. It expands to a 7.9-inch size in dual-screen mode and folds down to 6.4 inches for a more comfortable one-handed experience. Despite its large display, the device remains slim at just 3.8mm when fully unfolded and 12.8mm when folded. Weighing only 298 grams, it is lightweight and easy to carry, making it both practical and stylish.

The design remains the same as the XTs Ultimate. The only difference between the two models is the addition of new purple and white colors on the Mate XTs.

Processor & OS

The Mate XTs now runs on the new Kirin 9020 chipset, replacing last year’s Kirin 9010. This powerful SoC is the same one used in the Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ and Pura 80 Ultra, ensuring top-tier performance.

According to Huawei, the Kirin 9020 delivers 36% faster performance compared to the previous generation. Every Mate XTs model comes equipped with 16GB of RAM and offers storage options of up to 1TB, giving users plenty of power and space for apps, media, and multitasking. The Mate XTs runs on HarmonyOS 5.1, bringing a smooth and user-friendly software experience.

Camera

The Mate XTs camera system brings a major upgrade with a new 40MP ultrawide lens (13mm). It works alongside a powerful 50MP main camera (24mm) featuring a variable f/1.4 – f/4.0 aperture for sharper shots in different lighting conditions. Completing the setup is a 12MP periscope lens (125mm), offering detailed zoom capabilities. While the main and periscope cameras remain from last year’s model, the upgraded ultrawide lens makes this system more versatile for photography and videography.

Battery

Powering the device is a 5,600 mAh battery, designed to last all day with heavy use. Charging is fast and flexible, thanks to 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging, allowing users to power up other devices on the go. This combination of a large battery and advanced charging options makes the Mate XTs both reliable and convenient for everyday use.

Pricing

The Huawei Mate XTs is available in four colors: black, red, purple, and white. In China, pricing starts at CNY 17,999 ($2,520) for the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The 16GB + 512GB version is priced at CNY 19,999 ($2,800), while the top-tier 16GB + 1TB model costs CNY 21,999 ($3,080).
