Honor’s flagship series, Honor Magic 9, has launched today, featuring the Magic 9, Magic 9 Pro Max, and Magic 9 Super. The Magic 9 Pro Max sits at the top of this series and is a serious contender to be the best among the latest flagships of 2026. It arrives with the flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, dual 200MP cameras, and a massive 8,800mAh Si-C battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Honor has partnered with ARRI to make the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max a camera-centric flagship monster.
Display, Build, and Endurance
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED with a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate and a 1,320 x 2,868px resolution. It reaches 2,000 nits of global peak brightness, while its local peak brightness can hit 10,000 nits in isolated areas during HDR video playback. Honor also equips the display with an updated NanoCrystal Shield, which adds extra silicon nitride layers for improved protection, along with an anti-reflective coating.
The display also features a 5,600-layer silicon nitride coating, which Honor claims delivers 15 times better scratch resistance and 25 times better drop resistance than its comparison glass.
The Magic9 Pro Max has an all-metal body with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. It supports both 3D face recognition and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
Performance
Under the hood, the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max runs on Qualcomm’s new 2nm flagship processor, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, with a CPU clock speed of up to 5GHz. The chipset has scored over 5.5 million points at the AnTuTu benchmark. It boots Honor’s MagicOS 11, based on Android 17. MagicOS also adds a dedicated AI button, while Honor’s YOYO assistant can record video highlights with a single press.
ARRI Powered flagship camera setup
Magic9 Pro Max gets a new 23mm equivalent 200MP main cam armed with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture. It’s paired with an 85mm equivalent 200MP periscope telephoto lens using a 1/1.4-inch sensor and capable of 3.7x optical zoom. The third shooter is a 12mm equivalent 50MP ultrawide.
Both the main and telephoto lenses feature CIPA 8.0 “gimbal-level” image stabilization. All three sensors benefit from ARRI image science and feature ARRI color profiles and cinematic video filters.
The filters alter the camera’s color grading with a single tap to match the look of ARRI cinematic cameras. You’re also getting ARRI LogC3 Curve recording capabilities with full 10-bit color depth alongside the ability to record in ARRI’s Wide Gamut 3 color space.
Honor is also offering an optional teleconverter kit with a 500mm lens attachment, and there’s even a hand-held SmallRig camera cage which supports attachment points for additional accessories like grips, LED flashes, and microphones.
Battery and Charging
The Magic9 Pro Max packs an 8,600mAh battery with 40% silicon content and an energy density of 1,000Wh/L. It supports 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. Compatible vehicles can also deliver up to 50W wireless charging
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max Price and Availability
The Honor Magic9 Pro Max comes in four storage configurations, with prices starting at 6,499 yuan (about $968) for the 12GB + 256GB version. The 12GB + 512GB model costs 6,999 yuan (about $1,043), while the 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants are priced at 7,499 yuan (about $1,117) and 8,499 yuan (about $1,266), respectively. The Master Photographer Package costs 10,999 yuan (about $1,639).
The phone is available in Moss Green, Silver, and Shadow Black. Honor also sells the Telephoto Converters G500 and G200, as well as the SmallRig video expansion kit, separately. The company has not yet detailed international availability and pricing.
