Honor Magic 8 Pro Air design and Specs leak ahead of China launch

Honor is reportedly gearing up to launch a new compact flagship smartphone, dubbed the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air. A newly leaked image shared by Bald Panda on Weibo gives us a closer look at the phone’s design and color options. Meanwhile, fresh leaks reveal key specifications and a possible launch timeline.

Compact Design, Premium build

The leaked render shows the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air in Black, White, Purple, and Orange color options. The device features a minimalist rear panel with subtle Honor branding. It also has a horizontal pill-shaped camera module. Despite its compact form factor, the phone is said to measure just 6.3mm in thickness. Additionally, it weighs around 158 grams, making it one of the slimmest and lightest flagships in its category.

Display, Performance, Camera, Battery

According to leaks, the Magic 8 Pro Air will sport a 6.31-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution. It targets users who prefer smaller phones without sacrificing display quality. The device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, paired with Android 16 and MagicOS 10 out of the box.

Despite its slim profile, the phone is rumored to pack a large 5,500mAh battery. It supports 90W fast charging, promising strong endurance and quick charging times in a compact body.

On the photography front, the 8 Pro Air is tipped to feature a triple rear camera system, including a telephoto lens. This is a notable inclusion for a compact smartphone. It could make it an attractive option for users who want Zoom capabilities without moving to a larger device.

Launch Timeline

The Magic8 Pro Air is expected to launch in China later this month or in the first half of February 2026. It is likely to debut alongside the Honor Magic 8 RSR, expanding Honor’s premium Magic 8 lineup.

If these leaks turn out to be accurate, the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air could emerge as one of the most compelling compact flagship smartphones of early 2026.
