Google Pixel 7a leaked renders showcase a Pixel 7-like design

Google Pixel 7a leaked renders showcase a Pixel 7-like design. Images of Google’s next budget smartphone, the Pixel 7a, have been leaked online. Considering that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7a are both parts of Google’s current smartphone lineup, it’s no surprise that the Pixel 7a takes heavy design cues from the Pixel 7 on the rear.

However, the formal launch of the 7a is still likely a few months away. Similarly to how the Pixel 6a mimicked the visor-like camera island on the Pixel 6, the Pixel 7a mimics the metal bar on the Pixel 7. However, the 7a’s high price tag is brought home immediately by its chunky bezels up front (and a doubly thick chin at the bottom).

The typical phone dimensions are 152.4 x 72.9 x 9 mm (10.1 mm at the camera bump). The Pixel 6a measured in at 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.9 mm, smaller than the Pixel 6 in every dimension except width, although the difference is so negligible that it would be difficult to tell which device was which even when placed side by side.

There will supposedly be two color options for the Pixel 7a: white and a dark gray that Google will likely brand something else, like Charcoal and Chalk. Reports suggest that the device will have a Samsung-made 90 Hz FHD+ display panel, Sony IMX787 and IMX712 sensors for the back cameras, wireless charging compatibility (limited to 5W), and a fingerprint sensor embedded directly into the display.
