Vivo X500 Pro Max leaked photo and hands on video reveals a massive camera island design
Vivo’s upcoming flagship series, the Vivo X500, featuring the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, is set to launch in September. An exclusive Ultra model only for the Chinese market may follow the launch later. Ahead of the launch, we got multiple leaks about this series. Today, an alleged photo and hands-on video of the Vivo X500 Pro Max have surfaced online revealing its camera design.
An alleged photo comparing the X500 Pro Max to the X300 Ultra shows a massive camera island with a rotating ring around the lenses. We can’t confirm the identity of the phones with full certainty, but the device on the right is allegedly the X500 Pro Max. Its camera island appears to be as wide as the phone itself.
A follow-up TikTok video gives a closer look at the same design. It’s hard to tell if the camera ring genuinely protrudes from the top of the phone or if this is just the angle of the shot. The ring also has numbers inscribed along its side, possibly ISO markings, suggesting it could be used to control manual camera settings.
Vivo X500 Pro Max key specifications
Vivo has already confirmed several specs for the X500 Pro Max. According to Vivo’s official Weibo post, the Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature the world’s first BOE Q11 6.85-inch AMOLED panel with a 2K resolution. The new BOE Q11 luminescent material also brings several improvements.
It has appeared on Geekbench with MediaTek MT6995 chipset. Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the MT6995 chipset could be the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro.
On the camera side, vivo has confirmed that the X500 Pro Max will feature a triple-camera setup with two 50MP sensors and a 200MP sensor. According to past leaks, the main camera sensor will be a 50MP camera with a large 1/1.28-inch LOFIC sensor. The sensor will reportedly support 3° optical image stabilisation.
The ultra-wide camera should get a 50MP Sony IMX8-series sensor. The telephoto camera may use a 200MP 1/1.4 Samsung HP0 sensor, the same unit found on the X300 Ultra’s tele camera. Vivo is also testing a multispectral sensor (could be a 5MP sensor) to improve color accuracy and white balance.
