Redmi M100 launched with 7,900mAh battery and 120Hz display
Redmi has introduced a new smartphone series in China with the Redmi M100. The phone was launched without much fanfare and is already available for purchase in the country. It combines a large battery, a high-refresh-rate display, and several durability-focused features.
Redmi M100 specifications and features
The Redmi M100 features a 6.9-inch LCD display with a 1,600 x 720-pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel includes eye-protection features and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone also offers dust and splash resistance and is rated to withstand up to 500,000 fingerprint touches.
The phone comes in Midnight Black, Starry White, and Wilderness Green colors. Its rear panel has a four-dimensional micro-curved design, while the camera area features RGB dynamic lighting.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. The 4nm platform features an octa-core CPU and is also used in other Xiaomi phones, including the Redmi 17 5G. The Redmi M100 runs Surge OS 3 out of the box.
The Redmi M100 packs a 7,900mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. It also supports the PPS charging protocol, allowing users to use compatible third-party fast chargers.
For photography, the Redmi M100 has a 13MP primary rear camera with features such as film filters, portrait mode, night mode, live photos, dual-view shooting, Pro mode, and document scanning. The front houses a 5MP selfie camera with beauty mode, face recognition, portrait mode, and night mode.
Other features include NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Redmi has also added a senior care mode for older users. It offers larger icons and fonts, up to 300% higher media and ringtone volume, and an option to block unwanted calls.
Redmi M100 price and availability
The Redmi M100 starts at CNY 1,799 (~$266) for the 8GB/128GB version. The 6GB/256GB model costs CNY 1,999 (~$296), while the 8GB/256GB variant is priced at CNY 2,199 (~$325).
