Tecno Pova 8 launches with an 8,000mAh battery and Alive Matrix Display
Tecno has officially unveiled the new Tecno Pova 8, bringing a fresh design and a massive battery to the Pova lineup. The smartphone introduces a new Alive Matrix Display on the rear panel, replacing the Delta Light Interface seen on the previous generation. Alongside the unique design, the device also packs a larger battery, a 144Hz display, and a MediaTek Dimensity chipset.
Design and Display
The biggest highlight of the Tecno Pova 8 is its new Alive Matrix Display. Tecno has integrated a small dot-matrix screen into the camera module, giving the phone a distinctive look.
On the front, the device features a 6.76-inch IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The panel also supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate and Wet & Oily Finger Touch Recognition 2.0 for improved touch response. The phone also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Performance
Powering the Tecno Pova 8 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The phone runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box.
Tecno has also equipped the device with a large 15,000mm² graphite cooling system to help maintain stable performance during gaming sessions. According to the company, the phone can deliver stable 90fps gameplay in popular titles such as Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Camera
For photography, the Tecno Pova 8 features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera with 2x in-sensor zoom and autofocus support. On the front, the device houses a 13MP selfie camera for photos and video calls.
Battery and Other Features
Battery life is another major upgrade. The smartphone packs a huge 8,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging and 10W reverse wired charging. Tecno claims the battery can retain over 80% of its original capacity after more than 2,000 charge cycles, which translates to around six years of usage.
Tecno will offer the Pova 8 in Arc White, Graphite Black, Helios Orange, and Echo Green color options. Pricing and availability details are expected to be announced soon.
